Please note that he does not accept referrals from "Instant" or "online" referral services. Referrals must be from your usual treating GP to ensure continuity of care.
Dr Power is not able to provide emergency or crisis
consultations & recommends that patients consult with their General
Practitioners or local area Mental Health services, should they require urgent
attention.
I was born in Sydney, Australia, and have lived and worked in the area throughout my medical and psychiatric training.
I completed my Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2018. My psychiatry training took place in South Western Sydney and with Justice Health, where I gained experience in interest areas of general adult and addiction psychiatry.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). I hold a public hospital appointment as a consultant psychiatrist in South Western Sydney.
My clinical interests include neurodevelopmental, anxiety, impulse-control and post-traumatic stress disorders. I have contributed to research in psychiatry and addiction. I undertake supervision and teaching of medical students and psychiatry trainees.
I have a particular interest in telepsychiatry and its role in improving access to specialist mental health care, especially for people living in areas with limited local services.
