She does not consult with Work Cover, TAC & compensation
matters.
She does not provide medico-legal services or independent medical
opinions. It is recommended to search the RANZCP “Find a Psychiatrist” service
to identify a psychiatrist with the appropriate expertise for other specific
psychiatric conditions.
Dr Maud is not able to provide emergency or crisis
consultations & recommends that patients consult with their General
Practitioners or local area Mental Health services, should they require urgent
attention.
Dr Maud will consider referrals for any patient over the age
of 18.
The average waiting time is 4 months for a consultation
though the cancellation list can sometimes provide an earlier appointment.

I was born in South Africa and lived in Australia as a
child. I’ve worked in South Africa and the United Kingdom, prior to returning
to live and work in Australia, as a psychiatrist, in 2009.
I qualified in medicine at University of Cape Town, South
Africa (with Honours), in 1985. My initial psychiatry training was completed in
South Africa in 1991. I became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand
College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2010.
My consultant psychiatrist positions have been
with Eastern Health (Melbourne), Werribee Mercy Health (perinatal), Barwon
health service (Geelong) and at the Geelong Clinic. I have also worked as
Medical Director for Healthscope and currently, continue in my part-time role
as Director of Psychiatry registrar training for RANZCP and Barwon health
service (Geelong). I hold an academic position with Deakin University medical
school as a senior lecturer as well as being a PhD researcher (perinatal). I
have published widely in many areas of psychiatry. I am also an RANZCP examiner
for the psychiatry registrars’ final examinations.
In 2022, I joined the Telepsychiatrist Online alliance after my positive
experience of providing telehealth care, to patients, during the Covid
Pandemic.
