On 1 January 2022 the Australian Government made the aviailability of telehealth psychiatry consultations for all patients permanent.
Unfortunately, at the same time, the Government has removed all incentives to support better telehealth access for people in regional and rural areas. As a result, Medicare rebates for telehealth consultations to regional and rural patients have been cut by one third, making bulk billing no longer financially viable.
Effective 1 January 2022, the following fees will apply for all consultations with Professor Harvey:
Standard (15 minute) Consultation
$165.47 payable on the day. After your Medicare rebate ($77.65) you will be $87.82 out of pocket.
Long (30 minute) Consultation (double booking)
$295.00 payable on the day. After your Medicare rebate ($119.50) you will be $175.50 out of pocket
Extended (45 minute) Consultation (triple booking)
$395.00 payable on the day. After your Medicare rebate ($164.90) you will be $230.10 out of pocket.
$450.65 payable on the day. After your Medicare rebate ($233.75) you will be $216.90 out of pocket
DVA patients will continue to be direct billed with no out of pocket fees.
As a result of these Australian Government changes I will no longer be accepting Workcover/Comcare patients.
Fees must be paid immediately after consultation.
An invoice will be sent by text at the conculsion of the consultation. Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, PayPal, PAYID or bank transfer. Specialist reports, medical certificates or scripts arising from consultations will be availabvle once your invoice is paid.
Your Medicare rebate will be reimbursed by Medicare direct to your nominated bank account. Consultation fees count towards your Medicare Safety Net which lowers your out of pocket costs if gap fees for all medical services exceed the relevant thresholds.
